Creating a cultural collage against the grain:

because literary translation remains undervalued, sex education leaves much unsaid, Persian culture has                                            long been demonised.

It is about time our bookshelves were decolonised.

Where are you going, reader?

You are on the plane on your way to Amsterdam, and you have just started reading The Diary of Anne Frank. What a wonderful way to make use of travelling time that would otherwise go to waste. But, have you realised that you are

Not to Read Slow or not to Read Fast?

Did you have to pause to read the title twice? If you did, there's nothing else I need to say. If you didn't, follow my argument until I rest my case.

Up to the age of eleven, I was the fastest runner in my class, I even beat all the boys—but today, with the bones of a

Which Genre?

When I boarded the world of avid reading, only one year ago, I realised that I knew nothing about literature. To my dismay, I felt lost in a labyrinth of labels that vaguely spoke to me. Feminist writing, exophonic writers, nature writing, queer writers... Where are the sex worker writers, by the way?

About Me

Hello!

My name is Lazuli, and I am a polyglot committed to reading. Would you agree it's the best antidote against ageing? Books, it seems, not only keep a few existential wrinkles at bay, but also teach us about the inner workings of the human puzzle as well as the wonders of our world. You may have noticed, to your surprise, or your dismay, that there's an entire section devoted to human sexuality—in all its glory. Yes, that's right,  I'm a depraved woman.

And I am a firm believer that only free, passionate, curious readers can ardently make love to books.

Are you one of them?
